Why HJK ry?
HJK ry is the core of the club family: the original HJK, which was founded on 19th of June, 1907. At HJK ry, players have the opportunity, depending on their own interests, to play football for the sheer joy of playing or to strive to develop as an individual even to the top of the international rankings. HJK's competitiveness is ensured by high-quality coaching activities as well as continuous training of coaches and volunteers, as well as open cooperation between different stakeholders. The Club's vision is to be one of the best junior clubs in the Nordic countries.
HJK Player Fees
HJK player fees consist of an activity fee, a monthly team fee, and an annual membership and club administration fee charged by the club.
Monthly and activity fees
The individual club activity fee includes, among other things, team coaching, regular training slots, and match and referee fees for competitions organized under the Finnish Football Association. For players in the HJK Academy, the fee also includes physiotherapy services for injury rehabilitation, as well as bus transportation to away games according to the club's guidelines.
The monthly club activity fees for HJK’s district teams (kaupunginosajoukkueet) are:
Ages 6–9: 57 €/month
Age 10: 65 €/month
Ages 11–13: 68 €/month
Ages 14 and older: 72–112 €/month depending on the team level
Challenge teams (haastejoukkueet): 113€/127€ per month
HJK Academy:
8v8 teams: 143 €/month
11v11 teams: 153 €/month
The team also invoices additional operational costs not included in the club activity fee, such as equipment, camps, and tournaments. Players are charged these costs monthly or separately, as approved in the team’s parent meeting.
Adult recreational players can pay their participation fees using Edenred, Epassi, and Smartum.
HJK Club membership and administration fee
The club membership fee is an annual payment for members (players), determined each season at the club’s autumn general meeting. Payment of the membership fee is a prerequisite for playing in the club. The club administration fee covers shared administrative expenses such as staff salaries (office and sports directors) and other management costs.
For the year 2025:
Membership fee: 30 €
Club administration fee: 150 €
This membership fee is the same throughout the year, regardless of when the player joins the club.
If multiple family members play in HJK teams:
First player: 150 €
Additional players: 75 € per player
The family discount only applies to the full club administration fee. This is an annual fee and will not be refunded if the player quits mid-season.
Players joining on or after July 1st pay a reduced club administration fee of 75 €. This reduced fee does not qualify for the family discount. Players joining on or after October 1st will be invoiced for the following year’s administration fee.
Adult recreational players pay a club administration fee of 60 €. No family discount applies. If the player also plays in another club team, they only pay one administration fee.
Billing complaints must be submitted during the same season; otherwise, they will not be taken into account.
Club Administration Fee for Starter Age Groups
Starter age groups (aloittavat ikäluokat) refer to teams founded for the youngest age groups during the current year.
In 2025, teams founded in May for players born in 2019–2020 fall into this category.
Starter age group club administration fee: 75 €
No sibling discounts apply.
What the Club Administration Fee Enables:
- Full-time staff to support and develop players and operations
- Coach training (via Finnish FA) and coaching workshops
- Team official training programs
- www.hjk-j.fi website
- myClub administration tools for teams and the club
- ASIO scheduling system
- Match tickets for team officials to HJK top-league games
- Free access to meeting rooms at Bolt Arena for teams
- Travel insurance for teams
Membership Benefits include:
- The honor of wearing the logo of a 117-year-old club
- Free entry to HJK home matches in the Veikkausliiga, Women’s National League, Women’s First Division, and Ykkösliiga (2025 season)
- Discounts and rotating offers from HJK ry’s partners (available in your myClub account)
Player Absences
A player may need to take a break due to injury or other reasons. However, a break from team activities does not automatically exempt the player from payment obligations.
Voluntary absences do not qualify for payment exemption.
This is because team costs are calculated over the entire season and divided evenly over 12 months period based on the number of players. Therefore, each month's fee supports the team's ongoing operations (e.g., summer tournaments), not just that specific month. It wouldn’t be fair to offer voluntary payment breaks.
For medical absences over one month, half of the team fee will be charged.
If the absence due to injury or illness exceeds two months, a full payment exemption must be granted.
In academy teams, the rule is:
- Injury month + following month: 100% fee
- After that: exemption until return to team training (then 100% fee resumes)
In district and challenge teams (kaupunginosajoukkueet and haastejoukkueet), injury-related fees should be discussed at the parent meeting. The club recommends the academy model, but final decisions are made by each team.
Team leaders should remember that these agreements only concern team fees.
The club membership and administration fees are annual and not reduced based on active months.
Cancelling Registration / Ending Participation
Cancellations or resignations must always be submitted in writing to the team or group contact. Phone calls or no-shows are not valid cancellations and do not release the participant from financial obligations.
Unless otherwise stated in the group’s cancellation policy, ending participation requires payment of:
- The current (notice) month
- One additional month of the activity fee
The player is entitled to continue participating during both months.
If the official resignation is submitted before March 31, 2025 (before the club membership & admin fee due date), the admin fee is partially refunded.
The 30 € membership fee is non-refundable.
The admin fee is charged for each month until the team stops billing.
Example:
If the resignation is submitted end of February and the team charges for March, the player pays:
- 30 € membership fee
- Admin fee for January–March: 12,50 €/month (or 6,25 €/month with family discount, 5 €/month for adult group)
This rule only applies to unpaid membership and admin invoices.
If already paid, no refund is given.
If resignation is submitted after March 31, 2025, the fee is non-refundable.
